Due to technical difficulties beyond our control, these lists have
not been posted in a few months. Sorry!

Here is a list of known GEOGRAPHIC DISTRIBUTIONS.

o PLEASE. If you don't know what a distribution is, DON'T SUBMIT ANY!
o The list is not complete, nor necessarily correct.
o Please feel free to add to it, or point out things that shouldn't be there.
o If you note inconsistencies or misspellings, please send them along as
"corrections". No mistake is too small to correct.

o PLEASE NOTE that any submissions not in the correct format will be
discarded without notification by an apathetic computer.

o When you send an update, please do not quote this article back. Simply
note your corrections. Otherwise your submission may be discarded by an
  apathetic computer.

HOW TO CORRECT THE LIST:
========================

NEW DISTRIBUTIONS:
------------------

In order to add a NEW distribution to the list, its request must be jointly
submitted by at least two system administrators prepared to state they are
using it (not just planning to use it). What this means is that you must
send the request in, and cc your friend, who must *do the same*!!

OLD DISTRIBUTIONS:
------------------

Previously existing but not yet reported distributions needn't bother
with the above requirement. Send it as an ADDition.

DELETIONS:
----------

If someone mails me a message saying "DELETE distribution foo", then I
will post the request to news.admin and news.sysadmin. If there are two
replies in the next 60 days from the date of the distributions post, saying
"don't delete it, I still use it", then the distribution stays else it goes.

FORMATS:
--------

One of "ADD", "NEW", "DELETE", or "CORRECT".

ADD distribution: City/COUNTY-PROVINCE/STATE/COUNTRY
NEW distribution: City/COUNTY-PROVINCE/STATE/COUNTRY
DELETE distribution: City/COUNTY-PROVINCE/STATE/COUNTRY
CORRECT old entry|new entry

o The "distribution tag" should be lower case. The others should be upper
case iff they have been defined elsewhere as a distribution. If it *has*
been defined, then please use the actual distribution tag.

o If a distribution has *not* been defined, then please spell out the name
   in lower case and mark it with an asterisk (*);

DO NOT USE YOUR POSTAL CODE. See "aa", "ne", and "pnw" for examples.

o The first word or words after the colon (:) (but before the first slash)
should describe the word before the colon, completely. The first character
after the colon is a space, one space only.

Thanks!
