Hi, This question is not really about "admin", so if there's a better group, please direct me. I'm writing an NNTP client program and following the RFC, when I posted an article, the first 2 header lines I sent were "Relay-Version:" and "Posting-Version:". Yesterday I switched to a different news server, and my posts were rejected with an error message something like "441 Obsolete Relay-Version header". These headers (with version info and site) had been accepted by the previous server. Does this mean that the header is obsolete, or that the version specified on the Relay-Version header is obsolete? I had the same message for the Posting-Version line. I have removed them both, and can post just fine, but the RFC says both are required!? Any info greatly appreciated... You're using an obsolete version of "the" RFC (RFC 850); try RFC 1036 instead. -- Geoff Collyer world!geoff, world.std.com!geoff
