I'm using newsgate to gateway email <----> news (using sendmail
and INN as 'transports').

I have just had a message rejected with the following error:

mail2news:  Rejected by netnews because:
        Message-ID syntax error.
*** Please refer to page 23, paragraph 4.6.1. and Appendix D
*** of NIC RFC #822 for the correct syntax, and fix your mailer..
        It was going into the newsgroup bhp.test.
501 "|/usr/local/news/bin/mail2news -n bhp.test -o 'BHP news/mail gateway' -d bhp"... Data format error



and the message in question (relevent headers only) is



Subject: test
To: "bhp.test news" <bhp-test@resmel.bhp.com.au>
Message-Id: 
 <1429151326011993/A02523/VULCAN/1171D34F1600*@mrgate.resmel.bhp.com.au>
Autoforwarded: false
Mime-Version: 1.0



Has anyone else struck this?? Does newsgate correctly handle the message-id
extending onto a second line??
