I have gotten a copy of the man pages and pored through the reference
commands, but cannot figure out how to read in a text file I have written
that I would like to post. Thanks for all my other newbie questions that
have been answered!~

Use your editor! NN dumps you in the editor for a reason, so use it!

Depends on the editor. vi doesn't seem to allow it, which is why I switched
to joe.

Do you mean ":r filename<return>" in your vi doesn't insert a file
where the cursor is?

Surely you jest.

I've gotten more mail on this subject than I can stand. I hereby announce
that I'm sorry, I'll go and get better documentation (my book makes NO mention
of ":r filename"), and next time someone asks for help I'll just shut up
instead of offering what I can. OK?

Christ. It'd be nice if half the people who jumped on me for this one
could've responded to the original poster.
