Default save folder for folders ?

Whenever I weed out my folders "sentnews" and "posted" I usually
save info that I can use again to "sentnews.sav" and "posted.sav".
This requires that I hit "s" for saving and "^u" to restore the name of
the folder I last saved to as I do not know of a methos to select a
default save folder name for folders.

So - is it possible to assign a save folder name for folders in the init file ?
Or do I have to create some kind of macros ?
