I would like to see a list of what groups I've subscribed to and which ones I've unsubscribed. My nn manual says that's possible using the nn record file but I cannot figure out how to access it. The manual says something about "directory ~/.nn". Not being a Unix freak, what does that mean and what do I do to access this file? -David Anderson Nashville TN photo@theporch.raider.net

Not being a Unix freak, what does that mean and >what do I do to access this file? A bunch o files are kept in the '.nn' directory, you can 'ls .nn' to see their names. Most notable is the '.nn/init' file that has start up info/variables in it ... ( the '~' mark means that you are sitting in your home directory) but ... the answer that you want is more .newsrc which will show you a HUGE file semi-sorted of all kinds of strange groups news.software.nn: <- ':' means subscribed alt.fan.rush-limbaugh! <- '!' means unsubscribed and you can change the ':'s and '!'s to un/subscribe (p.s. learn 'cd .nn' to move into the directory and 'cd ..' to move back)
