Why can't nn split digests in folders or articles?

It's somewhat annoying, that a normally posted digest, which nn can split, cannot be split after it has been saved into a folder. Is there any strong reason for this? -- Kurt Swanson, Dept. of Computer Science, Lunds universitet. Kurt.Swanson@dna.lth.se -- Kurt Swanson, Dept. of Computer Science, Lunds universitet. Simple.
The beginning of each new message may look like a new letter to the mail
system (which might be used later to read the file). So that no other
folder reading program is confused by the digest headers, the digest headers
are damanged. (Go look). You can undamage them if you wish and see what
happens, but this is the reason.
You will find that sometime like this happens if you send mail that
contains lines in the message part that could be confused as a mail
header. The mail system will damage those lines too so that the
next mail program won't be confused.

Our friendly nn program ought to be able to recognize and deal with this... -- Kurt Swanson, Dept. of Computer Science, Lunds universitet.
