I just started using tin, and while I'm very impressed by it, I do have a few suggestions and questions: 1) When re-drawing the screen, it would be nice if tin could catch the interrupt of further keystrokes and stop the current display and jump to that next command. For example, if I hit ctrl-d to go to the next page, and I hit /mystring while that re-draw takes place, it would be nice to stop re-drawing and just immediately take and execute the command. It's not an issue for 9600 bps, probably, but anyone coming in at 2400 bps feels pain during those re-draws. 2) When i c)atch up inside of a newsgroup, I frequently ended up at the newsgroup level, but the screen would not re-draw. I had to explicitly hit ctrl-l to re-draw. I gather this might be a bug. This is on a SunOS 4.1 system. 3) I was not able to deduce how I might be able to pass through multiple pages of posts, mark just those that interest me, and then read all of them at once. How do you do this? Thanks! -- Will Estes Internet: westes@netcom.com

I integrated the patch that was posted to the net by Per Headland. : 3) I was not able to deduce how I might be able to pass through : multiple pages of posts, mark just those that interest me, and then : read all of them at once. How do you do this? Thanks! If using the most recent release (v1.1 PL8) you can: 1. Use the auto-selection feature (^K) to mark articles that interest you. Read the section in the manual page for more details. 2. Use the '.' command to mark articles & threads as selected and than reduce the number of articles to the selected articles by the 'X' command.
