Is there a modern replacement for the now obsoleting Xnews? It uses too much memories to load up some groups and takes forever to get the remaining message counts while whiting-out and lagging my downloads as well as slowing down the response times on some of my online games while I'm watching several news feeds and the Olympics... b u f f e r i n g... And I've got a really fast cable connection on a very fast network with some high-powered computers which are so fast they usually leave a blur - in fact they're sooooooooo fassssssssssst that when I logoff I look years younger than when I logged on! And then there's Xnews... Whew! I'm needed the latest, greatest upgrade. I'd prefer one that plays the mp3s in stereo on my computer because what's the sense of having an expensive sound system if you can only play them in mono and they show any pictures either? So, Xnews was sure a good one in its day, but like like those guys the president of the USA hangs ribbons on every year, while it has a place in history now, its sure not keeping up with the times! TIA.
