I'd hope that you weren't sure of it on the basis of a single post. Actually I doubt that "mediocre" is a term any of my acquaintances, either friends or enemies would apply to me. "Controversial" and "combative" are the more common terms. > > That's all very nice, but meanwhile the planet's still running... > And while I'm not thrilled at the concept of boring yahoos like > dale running the world, nor am I overwhelmed at the thought of zealots > like yourself in charge. I'm afraid that you have judged awful quickly here. Actually I'm something of one of those zealots you speak of here. Just on the other side. But, excuse me, I'm getting defensive. Those who run the world are the people who have gained the trust of their fellow men. Sometimes they gain that trust through deceitfulness and hypocrisy. These is quite common. Often they gain that trust through experience and brilliance. I have succeeded in gaining some trust of my fellow men. I have not done so by wearing baggies, long pony tails, and scraggly beards. But just because I try to act in trustful ways does not make either me or my life either boring or mediocre. It does make me normal. People can be both normal and a leader. Dale
