Of course my purpose was to vent. You don't actually think that
someone like that THINKS, do you?

What is success? Working 50 hours a week so you can get more STUFF?
The admiration of other stiffs who live that kind of lifestyle? Shit,
if that's success, I'm dressing my kid in the baggiest damned clothes
I can find.

Why? Because you assume that they are closed-minded? Just because
she's pierced doesn't mean she's not an excellent waitress with superb
people skills.

Why would you assume that ANY of his friends are going to hang until
he gets off work? And if they did, doesn't their money spend as well
as the bluehairs in Channel suits?

I disagree. The person who doesn't get hired by you simply because
they don't conform to your standard is going to find a job where their
uniqueness WILL be appreciated.

Tell 'em to come to The Mont.

Only because people like you allow that to happen. If you really
believed that what's inside counts, that skill and intelligence should
be the determining factors, then things change. I spent much of my
adult life in the service industry, and I hired on the basis of
ability and fired for stupidity and bad work habits. My customers came
in because they liked the food and the service was beyond reproach. If
they were shocked by appearances every once in a while-- well, it was
good for them to stretch their ideas of what is acceptable.

I only flame when someone ELSE makes an ass of themselves.
