Is it? Baggy pants are popular among different groups of people, not only
the "druggies" you suggest. It's a trend.

Nope, not a parent. I just happen to know a few people who wear "baggy pants"
who aren't on drugs. I got to know them because I don't use stereotypes, such
as clothes, economic status, race, etc, etc to judge.

Yeah, schools are in trouble. Making it a little boot camp isn't going to
make it any better.

Shouldn't school be a fun place? Uniforms aren't comfortable, which is going
to impair the good kids from learning more than if they were casually dressed.
I'm more productive at work when I get to come in casual.

You can't judge a book by its cover, and the bad apples are always going to
be there.

No, actually, one worked on the Mars Rover, and the other worked on the LEM.
Should a Ph.D in English have to know how to do linear algebra? Probably not.
Why should someone with a Ph.D in Mathematics or Engineering need to be a good
speller? It's nice if you are a good writer, but if someone's not good at
putting things on paper doesn't mean they can't do other Math-oriented jobs,
no?

These comments pretty much show what kind of "wack-job" parent you are.
