It WASN'T John F. Kennedy.  He was the youngest person ELECTED president.

Teddy Roosevelt.  He took over in September of 1901 at the age of 42.

Theodore Roosevelt.  I believe he was 42 when he succeeded
William McKinley after McKinley was assassinated, in 1901.  John Kennedy
was 43 when he was elected, which makes him the youngest person to
win a presidential election, but Teddy actually was the youngest to ever
hold the office.  T.R. was subsequently elected to a full term in 1904,
but he was 45 at the time.

So, what do you all think about making me the youngest president in 4
years?  Shall I start campaigning?  I'll be a ripe old <censored>
(younger than Teddy R., but at least 35) at that time.
