George, I am 23 year old single male, with 6 points, and live in Newark.
I am paying $1700 for a 4 Dr 1976 Buick Century with Liability only.
The car cost me $25 bucks from a stranger. So, I pay more insurance than the
car is worth!

Why don't you buy an old car and put some of the money you would be
saving (by not insuring a newer car with higher coverages) into the car.
Times are tough.

George look at this way, $4500 x 2 years is $9000.
Or $4500 x 5 years is $22500. Where is all this money going to?
The insurance company of course.

Any other highway robbery insurance prices out there?

++++

$4500 was the highest quote I've seen- I certainly wasn't going to pay
that much. :-) I'm still doing my shopping.
