Vreemde situatie:

 Redhat 4.2/Intel systeem
 alle released RedHat updates geinstalleerd

 syslogd neemt 95% CPU in beslag, er komt nix speciaal in geen
enkele logfile.

 Een 'strace -p' op de lopende syslogd geeft continu:

accept(0, 0xbffffaec, [110])            = -1 EINVAL (Invalid argument)
oldselect(1024, [0], NULL, NULL, NULL)  = 1 (in [0])
accept(0, 0xbffffaec, [110])            = -1 EINVAL (Invalid argument)
oldselect(1024, [0], NULL, NULL, NULL)  = 1 (in [0])
accept(0, 0xbffffaec, [110])            = -1 EINVAL (Invalid argument)
oldselect(1024, [0], NULL, NULL, NULL)  = 1 (in [0])
...

RPM versies:

 sysklogd-1.3-15 (zelfs geprobeerd met zelf hercompileerde versie)
 libc-5.3.12-18
 kernel-2.0.30-3



Any clues ?
