Maar ik heb het idee dat het hier om een "implementation notes" sectie 
gaat. de gebruiker (programmeur, jij && ik dus) hoeven daar in principe 
niks mee te maken te hebben.
Mbt NULL als functie argument lijkt er mij niets aan de hand, zolang er 
een valide prototype "in scope" is. Lijkt mij.
