I am glad your story ends with a happy ending.  Would have hated if
you said you took the test and couldn't get in.  If I took the test, I
fear I would not make it.  Of course, I have a bad attitude toward
mensa because I know one member who is truly an idiot when it comes to
being a nice human being. ;)

The word "idiot" is one I brandish about when I get angry.  I think I
may have adopted it from my parents.  When levied at someone, it
negates their value and substance.  What's worse than that?  One thing
to remember though, usually it is not believed by the accuser.  It
most often reveals that the accuser feels the opposite about the
recipient.  In some round-about way, the accuser hopes to inspire not
diminish.  Funny.  Most derogative name-calling is quite damning ...
wait a minute ... maybe not.  Maybe behind every bully is envy and
jealousy and a feeling of inferiority.  Huh!  I think that's the
truth.
