"Use of affect-laden categories for multiply categorizable objects"

Many social and nonsocial objects are members of multiple categories--
for example, a person can be categorized by age, gender, ethnicity,
or social class, among others. Which category will perceivers use to
guide inferences and behavior? New results suggest that categories
toward which the perceiver has highly accessible affective reactions
are more likely to be used.
