Is this a good or bad idea, folks? I've gotten an offer for $400 for the 6100/60, with it's 24 megs of RAM, DOS Card 486/dx2 w/16 megs of RAM itself, and 250 HD. Anyone else wanna up the ante, or should I let my pride and joy go for a song? If you want to contact me for a better offer, email gabester@nwu.edu call 847-424-0357 or 847-467-3936 I may just settle for this offer... it's the best I've gotten for the whole kit and kaboodle. Thanks, Gabe

Look it up in Mac Appraiser (v. 1.3 is now on the NUMUG server under NUMUG_Utilities.) I checked it myself, and you're losing upwards of $150 on the deal, using August 1 prices, and that's not counting the extra RAM (only lists 8 or 16) or the DOS card. -John Franklin

I'm not sure where they get those higher prices though, because I can't see the machine being worth that much. Gabe

Hey, less than 2 weeks ago, I visited the local used Mac place and they had Color Classics at $350 apiece. Now, the Color Classic is an 030 machine with no more than 10 Mb of RAM, and I can't see anyone giving them large hard disks for resale (in other words, the probably had no more than 160 Mb each). They had pretty small monitors and these weren't accelerated or anything. Now, that's a pretty good business. They actually sell the Macs they carry. If they can get $350 for such a lousy machine, you should be able to get at least, say, $600 for yours. (You might, however, want to look around for Used Mac stores... they might buy it from you to resell it.) -John Franklin
