You forgot that you have to be 50+ years old, be a "professional", have a
tan so you look like a leather bag with eyes, be part of one "society" or
another, and if you're a woman, you have to have eye makeup caked on your
face so thick you can't see.

Man. I'll critique anything.

I don't fit into any of the categories you list. I'm 24, no society would
have me, and who could have a tan this summer? I took the winetasting
class, and it was pretty fun. Heck, the fee equals about what you'd pay
to drink as much wine in a bar, and although the ambiance isn't the most
suave, I learned just enough to be dangerous. The instructor doesn't
exactly prepare much in advance of the classes, but he can ad lib fairly
well...

and I have friends who look nothing like leather bags who have enjoyed the
meditation and belly dancing classes... but, of course, YMMV...

The Latin Dance class rocked, too, (well, 6/8 time isn't all that common in
rock, but you know what I mean) and I'm much younger than 50, have the
"computer geek pallor," belong to no societies other than a few secret ones
(surely you've read the Illuminatus trilogy... then again, you're probably not
cleared for that), and women with heavy eye make-up just aren't my scene. On
top of that, I don't like granola, eat yogurt only in private, and don't own a
pair of Birkenstocks.

So give it a shot! Besides, if a Right-Wing-One-Man-Hate-Group-Bent-On-World-
Domination can enjoy those sorts of things, perhaps anyone else can, too!

I knew it! I knew it!

Illuminatus Meier... Why didn't I guess before? :)
