Since this is a FREE country, let me just clarify my opinion on this thread. 1.) I do not object to anyone posting a message looking for someone else, whether the poster is a government employee, wife, child, etc. If one of my loved ones was missing, I would go to great lengths to try to find them, and posting a message on the internet is as good a way to get the word out as any. If you don't like "missing person" messages, don't read them. 2.) To the average citizen, the chance of having your civil rights violated is a far greater risk from a criminal than from the "police." I personally do not worry about the police, because I have no reason to worry about them violating my civil rights. The chances of being a victim of crime are about a million times higher than being a victim of the police. 3.) If police have to monitor the internet to stop crime, so be it. Why would you want criminals to commit crimes on the internet without fear of being caught? 4.) NO, I do not support regulation of the internet, never have, and never will. 5.) Don't be so paranoid. Unless you are doing something illegal, you have a better chance of winning the lottery than you do of having the government monitor your internet communications. -- David B.
