Well, the CIA cannot legally within the US. So the CIA failure is that it didn't detect the plot from information available from out of country. Unfortunately, they failed. Of course, most of the work the on the 911 attacks was done in the US. The FBI has the responsiblity inside the country. The INS and the border patrol and customs have the oblation to control our borders. All things considered, the CIA did better than most of the government to protect us from such attacks. > > You can also ask another question: how different the events would be > if the best in the world CIA was replaced by the worst in the world? You are right here, the CIA didn't catch the plot. > The answer is clear. Do you think, anyone in CIA will be at least > reprimanded for this horrendous loss of lives? If the CIA leadership is reprimanded they should stand in line BEHIND the above mentioned agencies and you shoud throw in the FAA and the pilot unions who until the 11th didn't support resisting hi-jackers. > On the contrary, they > are getting additional $20 BILLION. The CIA is getting $20 billion? New to me! Most of that money goes to the DOD. > Would this amount of money make > US more secure? If it buys missiles, spare parts, ammunition (for training), and brings up the readiness of the military, YES it does! > Just look in the past to extrapolate the future: in > the first bombing of the World Trade Center only 6 lives were lost, > now, it is in the thousands. What will be the next number? Well, the NEXT bombing of the World Trade Center will not kill anyone! (BTW: had the first attack worked, it would have killed a lot more than 10,000 people as one tower would have come down immediately and it may have taken other buildings with it.) The first bombing should have been a "wake up" call but the call was ignored. > > I have a simple suggestion, how to end terrorist activities. Take > these $20 BILLION and give them to Palestinians. I guarantee you 100% > that this gesture will end all their terrorism. Guarantee all you want. But you are quite wrong. The lead bad guy had all the money anyone could desire and he certainly wasn't interested in ending terrorist activities. > > Fabrikant
