IOW, you don't >get significant shifting within the moon. Tectonically inactive or not, what value is the knowledge of the exact distance to a point on the irregular surface of the Moon from a point on the irregular surface of the Earth to within 3 cm.? What is known of the stability of the lunar mirror? Sounds like another well hyped toy in a game where he with the most toys wins. The era of the usefulness of lunar travel drew to an end years ago. Alan Shephard, Jr. opened the quest and closed it with his usual flair - a golf shot. Now NASA is in the business of perpetuating its own bureaucracy. What sounds like significant science is often a fraud to be lampooned in this phony era of global warming, and polar holes in crisis?
