No, if I want to use accidental death as a measuring stick, then the American program has been more successful! > American space-program deaths: 17 > Russian space-program deaths: 4 No, that is not accurate at all. That needs to be qualified Why there have been over 70 Space program deaths just from American ground crew alone. Then you are not including accidental death from Training > ==>You know nothing because you are in prison and just don't get out > anymore! > > While you, apparently, are not in prison, > and still don't know shit. Well, the same comment can be made about this post and they shit you don't know. Face it Ivan, no matter how much you know, their will always be way more you don't know. I have to live with the same fact myself, so you are not alone in your ignorance. But incidents? How many more incidents? One Space shuttle loss, you lose more lives than several Soyaz. Subtract the crew of the shuttle that blew up on lift off and the one the disintegrated upon re-entry and you got most those 17 American Astronauts. You make it sound like there were 17 American accidents and 4 Russian accidents, when the numbers are closer to 5 and 2 incidents. And when you consider the shuttle is a re-useable vehicle, it's still way safer per kilometer travelled than any Soviety space vehicle. Sure you can measure things different ways. But you really missed the point on this thread. It has nothing to do with the Space Shuttle. It has to do with the fact that Fabrikant is lying about facts to make a case that experts are mostly incompetant, and even when incompetetant they are hailed as heros, even when the event that launched them to hero status was due to their own incompetence. The main point about the Shuttle was that NASA had a good design, the US government would not fund it fully. Had it been fully funded, the tanks would have been inside, the foam falling off would not have been an issue, neither shuttle explosion would have occured. It wasn't the expert engineers at NASA who recommended the tanks on the outside. But it was the expert engineers who warned about o-rings failing, and went unheeded until an o-ring failed. My point is he doesn't have the expertise to know who has been incompetant when, or if at all. And for you. I have to wonder." > ==>And only Russians Astronaughts (sic!) died in space". This is the point you have decided to respond to Ivan. Besides the mispelling, it is 100% factual. An American has not died in space, nor anyone in the American space program. That cannot be said for Russia. Do you see, when I say 1+1 is 2 and you say I don't know shit, you do. See how that positions you? Well when no Americans have ever died in space, and only Russians have died in space, do you think anything you can say about the American space program can counter or negate that fact? The only thing that can is to produce an American who died in space. But it geos back to the condition of Idiocy which can affect even the brightest. Don't worry, it's usually just temporary. > >
