Gee you don't need an enginerring degree to answer that question.
The beauty of that question is nobody can get it right or wrong.
The fact is that they are discontinuing the space shuttle programs in a few
years.
So it doesn't matter what people think. It's time has come long ago.

It is old technology. It dates back to 1972 when the decision was made to
build tyhe space program around the shuttle.
Just think even the most mordern technology used in the shuttle is ancient
in todays world. It was first launched in 1982.
Gee you could get an XT back then, whith a 10 megabyte had drive running
DOS, Word Perfect and Lotus 1-2-3.
The decision has already been made - the program is being retired in 2010.
And that is a good thing.
The space shuttle is very costly. A new program can be developed and run
much more effeciently and a lot less costly.

> you think Iran is close to developing nuclear weapons? (YES, NO)

Again no expertise is required to know once a nation has nuclear energy
capabilities, it has the infrastucture and technology to develop weapons.
Nobody has to be worried about Iran launching an ICBM anytime soon. But a
suitcase bomb is within their finger tips. Isn't Canada the only countryu
with full nuclear capabilities that doesn't have nor pursue the deveopment
of nuclear weapons? If they are close to bringing a generating station
online, then they are close to developing nuclear weapons. You don't have to
have any expertise to answer that question. The difficult question is when
they have developed these weapons, how will Iran manage them. That is
something people can't answer for certainty.

Why stop their, how about the microwave oven, cell phones, velcro, and
dozens of other technologes that have become part of everyday life, spawning
business worth billions of dollars. Nobody is asking you to evaluate the
space shuttle program, the technology, so your Engineering degree is not
required. They have engineers that can dance around you, like your brain was
sludge. And from your posts there is a lot of sludge convict.
But the announcment that the program is ending in 2010 is old news. They are
asking people their feelings, after the fact. Their input means nothing.
It's just an entertainment ploy to involve the viewers in the news. What do
you think.

>The same goes for the present research. We can not
> even imagine, what results might come out of it.

No, I can answer that question. There is no new research being done for the
new space program.
It will be built entirely upon existing technology, which has advanced way
beyond the technology of 1972.
And even though the first launch wasn't until 1982, they had to lock in the
technology, because you can't start building with things that don't exist.
There is also very little in the way of new technology in the space shuttle.
All the new technology you speak of was developed in the 50's and 60's.
It was new for the mercury program, the gemini program, and the Apollo
program, but after that the technology existed. There was no gap between was
existed and what was possible. In the 50's and 60's the things to make space
programs work didn't exist. They had to be created from nothing.
By the time the space shuttle came along, no new technology was being
developed for the space program. And no new technology is being developed
for the new space program. They have already announced it will bebuilt
entirely with existing technology, which is a hell of a lot better
technology than existed when the Shuttle was designed and built over 35
years ago now.

> General public can not possibly do that.

No, you don't need to make any calculations comparing the money spent on
space research and say pumping it into another area of public spending.
They didn't ask if they thought the space program was to costly or provided
value for the money. They ask should it be discontinued, knowing full well
that it has been discontinued as of 2010 and knowing full well there will be
a replacement program, because the Americans are NOT giving up space.
They are ensuring that they can dominate it, and lead it's exploration.

> The second question about Iran, I do not think even the top CIA
> official would know the answer, let alone general public.

I think most people know Iran is run not by democracy, and is ruled by
religious doctrine.
I think most people know Iran fought an isnae war for 7 years with Iraq, and
had they had nukes they would have surely used them.
Saddam has said he would have, had he had them. They each had so many losses
they were sending children and women to the front lines to shoot at each
other. Iran is has a nuclear weapons program. They say it is for power. But
it gives them the ability to make and use nuclear weapons.
The fact is that Iran is close to developing nuclear weapons. Developing
them just as the shuttle program IS being retired in 2010. It is asking a
question that the answer is already well known. Except obviously to a
convict who doesn't have the same access to information as a free person.

> Here is my
> suggestion for questions, which TV stations can ask public to respond:

Forget your suggestion Fabrikant. It shows how diseased your mind is truly,
it is wasted.
TV is all about ratings. The more viewers the more you can charge
advertiserers.
Your questions may be important ones, but I seriously doubt it. All they are
is you using your expertise to pose a question that in order to answer takes
a lot of specialized training. But I am sure anyone trained in that field of
engineering can answer them quite readily - as you can.
The point is, and this is extremely important - nobody gives two shits about
your questions. Asking them would bore people almost as much as the answers
would, and the TV station's ratings would drop drastically, and likely for a
long time after they aired your assinine questions.

If they were somethign that was being discussed in public forums, then they
might be good questions. But nobdy cares Fabrikant.
God, is all you have to do in prison all day is spawn this shit? What an
empty life you must lead convict. NExt time you decide to murder 5 people,
maybe you will think it over a lot more carefully first.

Oh, and don't bother posting your asnwers. As I pointed out nobody cares,
and if they care, they already know.
