Exactly - which is what they should have done. It is always - ALWAYS -
the local and state authorities who are supposed to take the lead in
disaster response and relief efforts. ALWAYS. In the BEST case
scenarios, FEMA and active duty military will need 48 hours or so to
begin their respective support roles. In worst-case scenarios, like
when there are impassable roads and the majority of a city is submerged
under 25 feet of water, it is going to take longer. FEMA's response
under the circumstances was a herculean effort that desrerves praise.

But no, not from the nuvo-libs afflicted with Bush Derangement
Syndrome. Y'all think Bush can not only crap gold, he can part flood
waters with the pass of his hand, and levitate aid trucks from point a
to point b over impassable roads.

The bright side of the fantasy world most of you live in is you're
typically too stupid to find polling places at election time. That's
why republicans will remain in power for a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time (thank
God).

They day before the hurricane hit, the mayor ordered the remaining
citizens into the Superdome while 500 school and city buses sat idle in
still-dry parking lots, unused. ALL of the people - ALL of them -
could have been evacuated from the Superdome and sent to shelters
outside the city in a matter of hours before the storm hit. The Mayor
never ordered in the buses.

And it's Bush's fault.

Right.

Not.
