> Don't try to lecture me about > something you seem to know nothing about. I have worked in black society for most of my life in one form or another. My last job being a Police Officer in a major, and 80% black, city. Most of, if not all, of my partners were black. I was one of only 4 white students (only 2 white males) in the police academy out of 64 students. The city I worked in was reverse prejudiced to the extreme, and passed over white male officers to dip far down on the eligibility list to choose black males and black females for promotion to Sergeant and other ranks. This was all done in the name of affirmative action, and was basically a sort of "get even with the white man" mentality. It was a very depressing and discouraging enviornment to work in. I remember how I felt when I first became a Police Officer, all excited to do something good for the community, and help people, and I knew that most of the people I would be helping would be black, and that was fine with me. I was not prejudiced and felt that people were people, and that we were all basically the same. This changed, however, as the years went on and I discovered some of the differences in the way black people and white people (in general) think and see things. And I found it very disturbing to find that many black people disliked me intensly just because I was white, and because I was a Police Officer. I understood after a while that black society, their values, goals and viewpoints, seemed to be going off in a direction all by itself, totally different to the values that I was raised with in the suburbs. I met some black people that shared some of my viewpoints on some things, and ended up feeling badly for them because they had to live in such a terrible enviornment, but they were few and far between. I couldn't get over HOW MANY black people, seemingly intelligent black people, had the "conspiracy theory" about how white people are always "setting up" the black man, and how white people are out to get the black man by hook or by crook. After seeing several of my partners, white and black officers, get killed in the line of duty, protecting some dirty, filthy ghetto neighborhood, where they didn't want us anyway, I decided I'd had enough and retired early. I remember going to a high school on an investigation one day, and looking at a hand painted mural that covered the entire wall as you entered the school, seen by all coming to the school. It depicted the city on fire, white Police Officers beating black men who were in chains like slaves, black arms outstreched upward holding AK-47 assault rifles (Russian made by the way) and fists of black power. The feeling I got was that the blacks hate white people, from very deep within. I realized, at that point, I had no business in this city. It was black, governed by blacks, for blacks, and they didn't want nor need me, a white man, in their city. I do NOT dislike black people just because they have black skin. People can't help the way they were born. I have many black people I would call friends, and have trusted some of them with my life, and they trusted me with theirs as well. But I can't help feeling they are different in their way of thinking, and what they think society should be. AND that their way of living is totally different from mainstream America. For most of them crime, drugs, prostitution, violence, is just a way of life, and if they "catch a case", well that's just a normal part of life in the big city. I wish there was something I could do. I tried for 18 years, but you can't change a person or society for that matter, that feels it's right, and that the only reason white people can't see they're right is because they're black. On top of that, they want to force their way of life on US through their political power, music, dress, and through the power of the TV and the liberals who control the media. I truly WISH, with all my heart, that these un-informed white people with these liberal and pro-black views, would just go and LIVE in a black city or neighborhood for a while and SEE FIRST-HAND what it's like. See for themselves how these people live and behave, BEFORE they try to FORCE their way of life down our throats, and try to make us white people feel some sort of guilt for trying to preserve our dying way of life. These people, however, live in some affluent neighborhood, far removed and sheltered from the inner-city. They think because they take the freeway through the city every morning, that they are somehow HIP, and know the city. I'd like to see them drive off and take some of the inner-city streets to get to their jobs, and better yet, have their car break down, and see how long they last. The predators will be on them in a matter of minutes, and the'll become another statistic in "screaming numbers". I'm glad I'm out of there. I go back and drive around every now and then, just to remind me how nice it is to live in the suburbs... but the blacks are moving here to. They work in all the fast food restruants, and give the worst, most impolite service you can imagine, JUST LIKE THE CITY. I wish I knew a place in this country where they don't go, so I can move there. If not, I've decided to move out of this country eventually. I don't want to be an American when our young white people, and especially the white girls, think of the late Tupac Shakur as some sort of folk hero. And I won't put my life on the line anymore to support these values. Let them find another sucker. Sorry for going on and on, and I am not such a good writer, but I hope you get my point.
