Yeah, I know that if I was President, and saw the
mess America was watching on tv, I'd have gotten on
the phone and said; "what do you need, what can I do?"
Then I'd have gotten up and done it. If only he'd
cared enough, he could have placed calls into NO City
Hall and asked a few questions. Maybe he'd have
learned just how many people were in the SuperDome,
after all it was no state secret, huh?
Bush didn't bother to call anyone, nor did his
appointee's call or ask anyone what was happening to
people in the path of a storm they knew was coming
ashore. Only after the cameras began showing people
elsewheres dissatisfied with the emergency responses,
and one woman curse Condi as she exited a play she was
enjoying to go shopping. Only then did Bush get a
clue that he just might have some responsibilities he
hadn't discharged.
Not that he bother to discharge them, what he did
instead was go for the photo opts and got in the way of
the emergency crews trying to get on with their life
saving work. Or don't you remember Bill Clinton the
Great??? He didn't go into stricken areas because he
believed that by doing so he'd distract the people from
their lifesaving work. He went in AFTER, the
emergencies works had been accomplished. Not Bush the
lessor!
