I am no expert, but I can sense that the extraordinary curtailment of the
press we have just witnessed isn't healthy for the First Amendment. CNN just
had to force  ( by injunction ) the Government to allow free press access to
the operations on the ground in NOLA. Someone doesn't want you to have the
freedom to ignore or observe the truth.

It will all soon be apparent to you if you do some research with an honest
and open mind. You are intelligent, so look at what is being blogged,
covered in the REAL press ( try going to the English press, and the
AsiaTimes is pretty good too ) and maybe consider going to the DU.

They are followers of Reality-Based democracy, and they tend to source
things out very well, and the information flows freely.

Don't rely on rightwing sources. Right now they appear to be in
misdirection, denial, and coverup mode.

 And finally, play devils advocate. Spend Sunday roleplaying Kurtz. After
all, he IS just a character in a book....

Look to the internet, though the meatpuppet parade should be pretty
interesting this day.....take the opposite view from your present political
leanings, and research the Downing Street minutes, The Plame case, the
Fitzgerald grand jury, Blackwater, the ACLU and the continuing Abu Garaib
coverup. Read the Project for a New American Century, and notice how is has
influenced todays' situation. A grand game, but one that, when poorly
played, has devestating consequences......

If there is a crack in your reality, pry it open and look outside.

I do the same exercise ( I would REALLY like to be a old-fashioned
Republican, but Pandoras box has been smashed to pieces, and I fear we will
never be able to go there again.....) but all I find is an unsustainable
Potemkin nation teetering on the brink of complete failure due to the
realities of this day.
