A friend of mine is teaching English and computers in Mexico (except the
school
he's teaching at doesn't have any computers). He's trying to find 40
donated
computers for these schools (preferrably 286 and above)...we put together
a press
release, which follows. You can e-mail me or call either of the numbers
on the
press release for more details. Thanks for reading this!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Kevin Casey, a Denver native, is working with a local
Denver group to locate 40 donated computers for six
impoverished Mexican grade schools. He is also seeking
transportation for the anticipated computer hardware
donations to El Paso, Texas.

Approximately 900 students attend the schools in the
medium-sized town of Parral, in the Chihuahua province.
The public elementary schools, which primarily serve
middle and low income families, lack modern resources for
the children. Six principals and a local school administrator
have banded together to acquire donated computers in
hopes of building a more hopeful future for its children.

The schools in Parral are prepared to send a truck to El
Paso to retrieve donated computer hardware. Casey, who
was sent to Denver at expense of these schools, had
previously arranged for a donation of 40 computers.
Through a miscommunication, however, Casey is about to
return to Parral empty-handed.

Casey is working with On:Line 2000, a Denver-based
charitable group that receives donated computers from
corporations and individuals and configures them for
children from low-income families.
