I experimented a little with Gopher yesterday. I found it quite easy to use
once I got the hang of things. There are some quite interesting and useful
things there. For example the World Fact Book (or similar name) which has
reasonably up to date information (c. 1991) which I have previously found
difficult to track down from home. Also the US State Department travel
advisories are rather fascinating - If you believe them there can be few
countries which are totally safe for Americans! I even managed to find the
phone number for someone I new at the University of Illionois out of one of the
Gofer phone directories.

I think Gopher would be a useful permanent addition to Citynet.

David Wratt.

it has worked - It has taken me a while to get the hang of the editor)
