I collected my e-mail before I read your message, so I didn't
understand why you had sent me a 'blank' document.  But when I put my
cursor onto the document and clicked the outside border icon, an
outline of a label appeared.  Next I turned off the outside border
highlighting (so I had a blank page again).

Then in 'Word' I went to the [TOOLS][OPTIONS][VIEW] menu and ticked
the 'text boundaries' option.   Then I pulled up the template again
and yes- the label boundaries are visible exactly as you said they
would be.   So that bit of the mystery is solved.  Thanks.

Well how do you create a label with an icon on one half and text on
the other half?   If I use your sheet and try to insert a picture, the
picture is inserted immediately above and as far to the left as
possible of the label with the cursor inside it.  I cannot move the
picture inside the label afterwards either.   Does your copy of
'Word97' behave differently? SNOOPY
