We've been through this dance before. Last time you claimed the Sony models
in question were OEM BenQ and I set you straight on that account with proof
via links. http://codeguys.rpc1.org/dvdrw_overview.html

Here's another link of a review of the Sony DWG-120A from cdrinfo which
states same
http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Reviews/Specific.aspx?ArticleId=16894

Here's a review of the LiteOn SHM-165P6S http://www.cdfreaks.com/article/278

Visit the LiteOn forum/firmware testing threads at cdfreaks and learn same.
Plenty of sources to set you straight.

Now you're claiming they only use "LiteOn chips" but are still not OEM
LiteOn. Neither use a "LiteOn chip". They use a "Mediatek" chip. Have a look
via the above links and examine the pictures of the main chip.

As for the difference of 40x vs 48x CDR Burning speed: Even you should be
able to conclude that such can be a limitation of firmware. If you don't
like the Sony having slower speeds then complain to Sony to improve firmware
and implement the same speed the equivalent LiteOn has. Better yet don't buy
clones.

And of course you'll provide supportive proof to that cryptic claim from a
reputable source wont you Ken. Otherwise it's to be considered just another
ill informed claim from you.

And you've stuffed it up again despite previously giving you the links to
the proof you can read.
The DRU-510 and derivatives are made by Sony. Some of the other 500 series
were OEM Optorite.

The DRU-700A, DRU-710A, DRU-720A were LiteOn based. Congratulations you've
got it half right. Must have taken some notice of previous discussion
afterall.

> The sony 800's are benq or optodisc.

Utterly mangled again!. The 800 series has LiteON and BenQ OEM drives.
"optodisc" or the correct brand name "Optorite" were used in the 500 series.

I see from another post you've also left your fly open in regards to
claiming there wasn't a Pioneer DVR-100.
It should be clear to anyone reading your posts that you don't have a bloody
clue as to what drive is made by whom. FFS, do some proper research before
committing your guesses and beliefs to posts. And I don't mean reading and
badly quoting or alluding to crap from PC User magazine which is
consistantly wrong in it's claims and testing methodology. Especially with
regard to optical drives and media. Read the specialist sites and save your
money.
