22:30:29 26-Aug-1992 Thanks to my involvement in Kidlink, I can advise that there are currently problems with the .SU domain for the Soviet Union (or what was). It is to do with splitting off the states of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Date: Tue, 25 Aug 1992 10:14:50 +0200 Sender: piet@mcsun.EU.net Yes, there have been massive changes in the SU subdomains that last couple of days. Notably zone files have been set up for every registered subdomain under .su, these zone files do not reside on ns.EU.net (but on ns.fuug.fi), and the SU zone file of course reflects all these changes. Please note that the only reason why the primary server for the .su domain and subdomains reside on the mentioned hosts is that there is no IP connectivity to the x-USSR, which is why they can't run their own nameserver. The zone files are in fact not maintained by me, but by the naming authority for the SU domain; I just put in the zone files what I'm told to put in there by the naming authority. Anyway, I've already contacted the authoritative people, since there are problems with more .su subdomains. -- rich@tosh.wcc.govt.nz (Richard Naylor )
