UNIX Users Association of Southern California
                                April Meeting

                             Intranet Management
                         ---------------------------

                           Monday, April 14, 7-9 pm
                                 Corollary Inc
                              2802 Kelvin, Irvine
(one block north of Jamboree and Main)

At the UUASC April meeting, we take up the subject of managing an
enterprise intranet. Scott Menter, President of Enterprise Sytems
Management (ESM) of Tustin, will describe the recently announced
version 2.5 of their flagship product, UName*It. The product ties
together critical resources across administrative domains, unifying
them into a cooperative, shared information system. UName*It features
a central repository that is built on a fully-normalized model of the
intranet, including user accounts, servers, networks, and network
services. It provides a uniform change facility that can access or
update data within the model. By modeling these relationships, UName*It
is able to ensure both data quality and infrastructure integrity,
preventing common errors, and supporting collaboration among systems
and network administrators. Scott will also demonstrate UName*It.

The UUASC is for all persons using UNIX either personally or
professionally, or interested in learning more about UNIX. We recognize
all varieties of UNIX, including (without prejudice) SCO, Linux, SVr4,
Solaris, AIX, and BSD. This is a good place to meet others with similar
interests and broaden your skills and knowledge. Generally, meetings
include a technical presentation on a hardware or software topic of
current interest to the UNIX community and a round-table discussion
of current topics of interest to the group. We are always looking
for interesting presentations and your suggestions are most welcome.

Please join us this month and bring along your friends and coworkers.
There is no charge for attending a UUASC meeting. Also, please forward
this announcement to others who may be interested and feel free to
post it on BBSs, both electronic and physical. If you receive more
than one announcement by email, please let us know so we can keep
our lists current. Thanks for listening.

Check out the UUASC Web site at http://www.uuasc.org. Many thanks to
Network Intensive for sponsoring our site.
