UUASC
UNIX Users Association of Southern California
July Meeting
-----------------
ISDN in Real Life
-----------------
Monday, July 10, 7-9 pm
Graphix Zone
38 Corporate Park #100, Irvine
(southeast of Jamboree and Barranca)
ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) has been called the on-ramp
to today's "Information Superhighway". It can replace your modem and offer
a data rate up to 128 Kb/second, before compression. Pacific Bell is now
offering home ISDN for $24.50 a month. UUASC member Jack Kendall has
installed ISDN and connected it to his home UNIX system. For July, Jack
will tell us how it went and is still going. Come learn what ISDN has to
offer and one person's experience with installing an ISDN link from home
to the Internet.
The UUASC is for all persons using UNIX either personally or professionally,
or interested in learning more about UNIX. We recognize all varieties of
UNIX, including (without prejudice) SCO, Linux, SVr4, Solaris, AIX, and OSF.
This is a good place to meet others with similar interests and broaden your
skills and knowledge. Generally, meetings include a technical presentation
on a hardware or software topic of current interest to the UNIX community
and a round-table discussion of current topics of interest to the group.
Please join us this month and bring along your friends or co-workers. Also,
please forward this announcement to others who may be interested and feel
free to post it on BBSs, both electronic and physical. If you receive more
than one announcement by email, please let us know so we can keep our lists
current. Thanks for listening.
