One of Southern California's finest community choirs, The South Bay 
Master Chorale, is conducting Auditions for the 1994-95 season.

Founded in 1978 by Dr. Jane Hardester and originally calle The Jane 
Hardester Singers, SBMC is composed of 36-40 men and women selected by 
annual audition from among talented amateur and semi-professional 
musicians in Los Angeles and Orange Counties.  The Chorale is composed of 
music teachers, church choir directors, music students, and professionals 
from all walks of life.  

The South Bay Master Chorale was founded to promote and encourage the
appreciation, understanding, and study of choral and vocal arts.  They
provide a high quality musical experience to individual performing artists
of Southern California with a high quality form of choral art.  SBMC is
dedicated to the understanding of choral literature through the
presentation of concerts, community outreach programs, and performance
demonstrations.  Noted for a diverse repertoire and a commitment to
excellence, the group
 has achieved a consistently high quality ensemble sound, and has earned a
reputation ensuring a secure and exciting future. 

Rehearsals are held on Monday nights at the Manhattan Beach Community
Church.  SBMC will holds four major concerts this season:  Holiday
Serenade, Gala Concert, Ultimate Team Sport, and Cabaret Concert.  This
season promises some exciting and challenging music, including Poulenc's
"Gloria" and Menotti's "The Unicorn, the Gorgon, and the Manitcore" 
complete with dancers and instrumentalists. 

Auditions for this elite group are in progress, and are by appointment 
only.  They well be held on August 25, 29, 30, September 1 and 7 at the 
Manhattan Beach Community Church from 6-10 p.m.  For more information and
