See if we can get back to Ohio :o) This is one of those debates that few outside our little Camelot of metro Columbus care about, though I am curious if anyone whose ONN was recently snipped in Warren and elsewhere is upset (or even noticed that it's gone). But hey, we're here & it does concern at least part of Ohio. :-) I heard an interesting theory/prediction which went something along the lines of this: The chicken game lasts past the deadline, and WBNS prohibits its signal from being carried on Time Warner. Time Warner carries WKRC in Cincinnati or some other affiliate (possibly WCBS in New York?) as a stopgap to provide CBS programming to its subscribers. Lengthy SHVA lawsuit ensues. In the meantime, CBS/Viacom, which owns WWHO in Chillicothe/Columbus and was thinking about unloading it in the merger, decides to hold on to it long enough for the ratings to come out, showing WBNS's experiment of going wireless to much of the city as a dismal failure. CBS/Viacom yanks WBNS's affiliation and turns 53 into a CBS O&O, figuring a wholly owned UHF station on cable is better than a renegade VHF station offline. WBNS then abandons ONN and scrambles for some kind of network affiliation, possibly even winding up with WB.
