You realize that you are making an arguement against alcohol.
Point 1
If alcohol didn't exist in the alcoholic beverages, 99% of those
drinks would cease to exist.
Point 2
If people can get drunk on alcohol, I don't see how getting
high on pot is any worse. I have seen dead heads that are
successful people and use the substance in a responsible fashion.
If people can have responsibility not to drive drunk, they
they can have responsibility not to drive potted.
Point 3
There are drugs that are just as bad or worse than pot that
can be used for medicial purposes. People can get high on
many medical drugs if they abuse them or over the counter
drugs.
Point 4
When alcohol was outlawed it created a corrupt government.
Now that is isn't outlawed, it is not as corrupt.
Point 5
Your opinion that it is morraly wrong is as arbitrary that
I believe alcohol should be outlawed.
Point 6
If people can get high with pot, they probably wouldn't
use other dangerous drugs. Once you get caught in the
crime, your brain becomes accustomed to crime. Fine, let
them have pot, prevent them from breaking in to someone's
house to steal money.
Point 7
People in England who are addicted to drugs can get the
drugs from the government, and they can maintain a job
and not live a life of crime. One mother in England is
addicted to drugs and stopped selling her body for
sex, put her kid in school, and maintains a successful job.
From what I understand, the program is strict and should
be to prevent abuse.
Point 8
I DON"T WANT pot to be legalized, but for MEDICAL PURPOSES
I do. The political bullshit that goes on because people
worry about abuse doesn't help the people who need it.
Any arguement you make against pot can be turned around against
alcohol and tobacco. If soemone talks about pot being morally wrong, their
opinion is arbitrary and I can claim alcohol and tobacco are wrong
because of my arbitrary opinion. If someone claims alcohol is as potent
as pot, but if permits alcohol to exist in a potent form and
permit people to get drunk on it, I don't see why people can't
get high one one joint rather than 10 beers.
If you support the elimination of alcohol and tobacco, then I agree
with you, or if you can show how pot is more damaging than 10 cans
of beer, then I agree with you. But somehow cancer and the destruction
of your liver is probably just as equal to any damage one joint a day
could do.
Somehow I get the feeling society has been trained to accept beer and
tobacco while not allowing other drugs. I am against all, and I wish
people wouldn't use any. But seeing how people I have known don't get
addicted to pot, I cannot see why us FREE people in America who believe
in FREEDOM should not allowed to smoke pot. However, I am glad it
is illegal just because I don't like drugs anyways.
What I say is, if alcohol and tobacco are legal, it is contradictory
to have pot illegal. I wish all were illegal and I hope pot doesn't
become legal. I do hope it becomes legal for medical purposes.
