I wonder if the FCC has any regulations banning AM and FM stations from telling their listeners to "keep their ears glued to this station" and explaining how "relaxing" their music is and how you just have to listen every day? And, these are by far not the most extreme examples. This came to mind the other morning when I tuned in to WLW in Cincinatti on my magic AM radio and heard the talk station host making a really outrageous and amateurish hypnotic induction with the purpose of "making converts" to his radio station and who knows what else. Well, if the FCC isn't interested in this and other issues regarding the many abuses of free speech going on these days, then I suggest _you_ get some speechwriters with skills in this area and start converting listeners to Republicanism and a whole wealth of other good causes.

If you're worried about a talk show host pretending to play hypnotist, may I suggest that there are more important things to worry about? <rant> Of course, if you happen to be from the Cincinnati area - and I suspect you aren't, due to the crossposting; I suspect you're down in Texas - but if you are in the Cincinnati area, it doesn't surprise me that you'd complain about something as trivial as what looks like a stupid radio stunt, as an "abuse of free speech". Intolerance is rampant in southwest Ohio (I went to school in Dayton for two years and had the pleasure of dealing with some of it). You'd better be white, heterosexual, practice some flavor of Christianity and not have any weird political views if you live down there, or you're not likely to make many friends. </rant> >Well, if the FCC isn't interested in this Get a life. And no, I doubt the FCC will be interested in this. -- Steve Sobol, BOFH, President 888.480.4NET 866.DSL.EXPRESS 216.619.2NET North Shore Technologies Corporation http://NorthShoreTechnologies.net JustTheNet/JustTheNet EXPRESS DSL (ISP Services) http://JustThe.net mailto:sjsobol@NorthShoreTechnologies.net Proud resident of Cleveland, OH
