Kerry's anti-RKBA record

The deception of Kerry is not difficult to address. His 20 years of
anti-gun votes in the Senate have earned him a 100 percent approval
rating of support from the anti-gun Brady Campaign, the anti-gun
Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, the Sierra Club and PETA as well. This
year, as a co-sponsor, he voted for S. 1431, the so-called "assault
weapons ban." This expanded bill would have banned all semi-auto
shotguns, and all semi-autorifles with detachable magazines without
regard to magazine capacity or sporting use.

The so-called "assault weapons ban" was fully supported by President
Bush. It never came to a vote, but he promised to sign it into law
if it came across his desk.

Gee...why is that?

You don't think he *knew* it never would...

He didn't take any steps to stop it from coming to a vote,
but the house is republican-controlled. It could've been
forced through by the dems, but gun-control has been shown to
alienate voters. Imagine that.

Point is, Bush has made the same statements as Kerry regarding the
assault weapons ban. What's good for the goose is good for the
gander, so hang one for the AWB and they hang together.

Wrong. Its not dead -- watch and see, the Republicans will bring it back
next year. The Republicans (except for Ron Paul) just use the gun issue
like a weapon, taunting RKBA/2nd Amendment people, getting us to donate.

Don't play the game. The NRA disgustingly ONLY endorsed Republicans, and
completely ignored principles and did not ALSO endorse Libertarians. I am
therefore quitting the putrid NRA in favor of GOA (I'm already in JPFO).

Republicans - don't lose your principles. Return to Goldwaterian limited
government. Vote Libertarian and send a message!

You mean the 'Rats:

http://www.nrapvf.org/news/Read.aspx?ID=4521&T=1

If there was any doubt about John Kerrys true position on the Second
Amendment, his endorsement from the Brady Campaign should clear the
air, said Chris W. Cox, the National Rifle Associations chief
lobbyist. John Kerry stands with other gun banners like Dianne
Feinstein, Ted Kennedy, and Chuck Schumer -- each one commended by the
Brady Campaign for their anti-gun records.

Its shameless and dishonest to spend your entire career voting against
gun owners, then try to repackage yourself for a presidential bid,
added Cox. A true hunter and sportsman would never seek and accept the
endorsement of groups who advocate banning guns, banning ammunition, and
licensing and registering law-abiding gun owners.

The following are just a few of Kerrys votes against Americas
sportsmen and gun owners:

voted to ban most center-fire rifle ammunition, including many common
rounds used by hunters and target shooters (Vote No. 28, March 2, 2004).
co-sponsor of legislation to ban all semi-automatic shotguns and
detachable-magazine semi-automatic rifles, a gigantic step toward
bringing Australian-style gun control to the U.S. (Signed on as
co-sponsor of S. 1431 on Nov. 21, 2003).
voted to hold the highly regulated American firearms industry legally
responsible for the illegal acts of violent criminals (Vote No. 24,
March 2, 2004; Vote No. 25, March 2, 2004).
Kerry says, "I think you ought to tax all ammunition, personally, I
think you ought to tax guns. (CNN "Late Edition," Nov. 7, 1993)
Kerry has a 100% rating from gun-control groups and is called a hero
by anti-hunting extremists like PETA.
Kerrys numerous anti-gun votes present a red flag for hunters and
sportsmen, but this savvy voting bloc will not be fooled by
election-year campaign tactics, concluded Cox.
