You guys are missing the point.
The question was, even if Bush isn't a conservative, and is "spending
money like a man with a week to live," why would Kerry be better?
The answer is, Bush botched the war on Terrorism; he invaded
Afghanistan to get bin Laden, and failed to do so.
Kerry couldn't *possibly* do worse-- Bush screwed up.
But the main problem with Mr. Bush is that he screwed up the economy.
He lost jobs-- an amazing feat that no president has done since the
depression up until Bush. With the economy on a downturn, he
*increased* government spending.
Jonah Goldberg:
"Among conservative journalists and activists, the disappointment in
the Bush Administration's, and the GOP congressional leadership's,
domestic policies is mounting daily.
"On free trade, the president has proved less reliable than -
shudder - Bill Clinton. His acquiescence (i.e. capitulation) on
Medicare has been total, refusing to fight for significant free market
reforms while agreeing to shovel hundreds of billions of taxpayer
dollars for new entitlements.
"In general, Bush has been spending money like a man with a week
to live. The GOP-led Congress deserves some blame, too. But even when
they overspend above his overspending, Bush refuses to use his veto
power. "
The Republican led congress deserves more than "some" blame-- but
that's only to be expected. When the administration and the congress
are from the same party, it's pig city on the budget.

It's a process called "defining the enemy". It's all going according to plan.

Which goes to military strategy, which the President does NOT do, and should not do. Are you saying that Kerry would personally be laying out the specifics of battle plans? Bush's main problem is that he lost track of the conservative agenda to go on a big-government spending spree. The underlying problem is that nobody was there to stop him-- when the president and the congress are from the same party, nobody's guarding the treasury-- they just spend and spend. Since we have a Republican congress, what we need is a Democratic president. master_blaster100@lycos.com (Jon) wrote in message news:<e1c97c16.0411012117.38a203ef@posting.google.com>... > You guys are missing the point. > > The question was, even if Bush isn't a conservative, and is "spending > money like a man with a week to live," why would Kerry be better? > > The answer is, Bush botched the war on Terrorism; he invaded > Afghanistan to get bin Laden, and failed to do so. > > Kerry couldn't *possibly* do worse-- Bush screwed up. > > But the main problem with Mr. Bush is that he screwed up the economy. > He lost jobs-- an amazing feat that no president has done since the > depression up until Bush. They are misleading all Americans in a profound way." Kerry seems to have forgotten the horrific events of 9-11-2001, or perhaps in his staggering wealth he simply doesnt give a damn. Kerry loved the disgusting insult the cover of his book, The New Soldier, delivered to the thousands of United States Marines and sailors who died on Iwo Jima (the cover has protestors mocking the raising of the flag on Mount Suribachi and holding the U.S. flag upside down). He marched with protestors carrying Viet Cong flags while the Viet Cong killed American soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines. He supported North Vietnams use of American POWs as bargaining chips in peace negotiations. He remains a vocal supporter of the traitorous Hanoi Jane Fonda, who encouraged the torture of American POWs. And with other radical leftists, John Kerry threw medals he implied belonged to him at a statue at the Capitol, when in reality they were not his at all (he later admitted he wasnt sure whose medals those were). He even claimed to have personal knowledge of numerous American servicemen raping, pillaging, plundering and murdering across South Vietnam, which he later admitted to having heard as hearsay from fellow supporters of North Vietnam. North Vietnamese war strategists have repeatedly stated that the communist insurgency was able to defeat the U.S. military in large part because of the motivation and hope the North Vietnamese Army and Viet Cong received from U.S. war protestors. Kerry sees nothing wrong with any of this. Now John Kerry, who according to the North Vietnamese gave them aid and comfort in time of war, says al Qaeda isnt all that bad and that President Bush is exaggerating the danger we are in. I wonder if he would feel that way had his family been killed in the attacks of September 11th, 2001. http://mensnewsdaily.com/archive/m-n/newman/2004/newman021104.htm -- ࡱ
