The Institute for Democracy in Education, a nationwide 
affiliation of teachers, administrators, students and others 
interested in educational practice which engages all participants
in building the knowledge and skills for making choices in our
world, is now accessible through a new BB in the Government 
Center.  

Type "Go IDE" at any "Your Choice ==>" prompt to read about 
its current activities and join the discussion of educational 
issues important to you.

August arrives.  BACK TO SCHOOL looms just ahead.  For many
who will be returning to school this phrase is cheerless 
beyond its accompanying summer's end.  However, rather than 
listing your laments, we'd like to hear what it is that you're 
looking forward to when school starts this fall.

As an inaugural poll for participants in the IDE BB on the 
Freenet, we want to know what it is that you can't wait to get 
back to at your school - Friends? Colleagues? Projects or 
investigations left suspended over summer?  What about Sports, 
Mock Trial, Acting and Theater, your School Newspaper, Yearbook,
Peer Tutoring, Model UN, Chemistry Lab?

Post your answer in the 'Open Dialogue' choice on the IDE Menu.
We'll conduct this poll and tally the responses from now until
mid-August.  At that time we'll publish the results.  With your
help we'll all share school's opening with renewed spirit.
