The following document was posted on local newsgroups at Miami University.
I felt that it was deemed necessary that I post here too for some people who
are affiliated with Miami who have no access to our groups.

Begin document:

As President of CompuClub and a member of SEN (the new Presidential
organization), I would like to inform all readers of the following.

VOINAVICH WANTS MIAMI MIDDLETOWN AND MIAMI HAMILTON TO SPLIT FROM MIAMI OXFORD

$ His commission says that both regional campuses are doing what a new
  "community" college would do.

$ It would save state dollars.

$ It would bring the communities together.


MIAMI HAMILTON STUDENTS WANT TO STAY TOGETHER 

* Miami campuses are doing a good job because they work well together.
  Over 27 years of experience can't be wrong.

* Many branch campuses think that MUH and MUM are stepping stones to Oxford.

* Many students want to be a part of MIAMI, not some "nobody" community college.

* MUM and MUH students would be left out in the cold if the campuses left
  from the system.  A good portion of students wouldn't be able to go to
  Oxford because of transportation, financial, or other specific problems.

* Student organizations and conferences would have no association with anyone
  else.  Financial support would go down fairly quickly for the student
  organizations, and there would be no feeling of togetherness.


I'll be posting updates on times and places for meetings for the "Let's Stay
Together" campaign.  There will be a hearing next week on this topic and
MUH students will be going to it.
