I'm having some problems sending and recieving mail, so I thought I'd ask here. Most of the mail that comes to me has a log entry in the uu logfiles like: rmail username Now, sometimes I get mail, for a user on my system, of the form: rmail system!system!...!username however, none of the information relates to my system. How do I know it's for one of my users? Well, I have a uucp checker that tells a user whtn a job has been idle for a certain amount of time. I got one, checked, and found out that the mail *was* for someone on my system, even though it was in the outbound queue. I am trying to determine the "right" way to read my logs, so I'll be able to figure out what might be happening. Please respond via email, either to gerald@csoft.uucp or david@r-node.gts.org , because our Newsfeed is sporadic as of late, and I don't want to miss any info. :-) I'll be more then happy to post a followup, to summarize. NOTE:: Gerald is operating on a Coherent system. My memory of Coherent was that their logging was different the normal logging...that may have changed, in which case this note is totally irrelavent :) Marc -- Marc G.
