Quicky connectivity question

The most recent "paths" file spit out by pathalias on this site
recently, lists the fastest path between telly and "gatech" (Georgia
Tech) is through becker!ibmcan!mcnc!gatech.

Most of my paths to Internet sites go by the logical and intended manner,
thorugh the site(s) which agree to forward my Internet mail for me one
hop away.

Is Georgia Tech not on the Internet? It's quite well connected, and some
paths that I wouldn't expect (like ann-arbour.mi.us) go through this
quite convoluted path.

Is the ibmcan -> mcnc route of low enough cost to justify stuff routing
there rather than direct to the Intenet?

Any suggestions?

What's with all this multimedia stuff? Most vendors can't get *one* done right.
