    UUPlus announces release of UULite, UUPlus Utilities, and UUEngine
    version 2.01.  Version 2.01 provides significant new capability over
    previous versions, including answer mode UUCICO, Listserv, FTP by Mail,
    a new mail/news reader, and several new file queueing utilities.


Overview.

    UUPlus is Unix to Unix CoPy (UUCP) Mail, News and file transfer
    software for PCs running DOS.  UUCP is the store and forward
    communications technology included with most UNIX operating systems.
    UUPlus provides the most commonly used Mail and News services for DOS
    platforms with a user friendly, easy to use interface at a cost
    effective price.

    UUPlus can connect multiple PCs to existing UNIX networks or create
    fully automated, stand-alone enterprise UUCP networks without UNIX.
    UUPlus provides highly economical data communications capability from
    remote PCs to central UUPlus or UNIX sites using modems and standard
    phone lines.  UUPlus, using 28.8 modems and standard phone lines, can
    transmit data up to 3400 characters per second,  or approximately 1
    page of ASCII text per second, without compression.  This provides
    very cost effective site to site communication compared to FAX or
    other services.

    Businesses, organizations, schools, churches, and individuals can now
    have automated, Internet compatible communication without investing in
    complex and expensive UNIX or NT operating systems and hardware or
    proprietary software.  Local networks can be extended across town or
    across countries.  Private and secure Wide Area Networks can be setup
    at a fraction of the setup and use costs of other products.


Compatibility.

    UUPlus is compatible with the UNIX UUCP file transfer protocol,
    Internet domain addressing, and Usenet standards, including:

         -  Internet RFC-822 and RFC-1036.
         -  Berkeley 4.2 / 4.3 BSD, System V BNU,
            Sun OS UUCP,  Taylor UUCP.
         -  'B' and 'C' News.
         -  12, 14 and 16 Bit Compress.
         -  Standard BNU system file formats and
            directories.


Packages.

    UUPlus is available in three packages:

    UULite

         -  UUCP client software for stand-alone system.
         -  Manually initiated auto-login (call only).
         -  Smart mail routing, multi-user, multi-host, with
            news processing and distribution capability.
         -  Medium featured Mail and News reader with
            file queuing, uuencoding / decoding, and news
            batching capability.


    UUPlus Utilities

         -  Includes all the features of UULite.
         -  Includes Listserv, UUPlus FTP by Mail, and
            remote command execution (UUX).
         -  Cron initiated remote site login, event
            scheduling, and news distribution / batching.


    UUEngine

         -   Includes all the features of UUPlus Utilities.
         -   Single line, host (answer) mode UUCICO with
             automatic login, and password processing.
         -   Includes remotely executable utilities.
         -   Functions as a single line UNIX UUCP Node.
