I am sure you remember that - taking out four dollar bills, one for tax cuts, one for important new programs etc. Folks said Bush was lying - that in fact he planned to spend more than three times as much for the tax cut. Bush has come out with his budget. It has 1.6 trillion for a tax cut and about half a trillion for new spending. Bush looked us right in the eye and lied to us. Because the polls told him that voters did not want a big tax cut using up most of the surplus - voters wanted a bigger share of the surplus used for educ and so on. So Bush just flat out lied to us. Really. Looked us right in the eye, took out those four dollar bills, and lied, about something really important, every day of the campaign. He thinks you are a fool who would not catch him.
