Oregan-based Cell Tech suing Mark R. Thorson for Defamation

An Oregan manufacturer of Super Blue Green Algae from Klamath Lake is
suing a misinformed impetuous psychotic it claims has been on an
anonymous Internet rampage. Cell Tech says Mark Robert Thorson (DOB:
August 1958) has been harassing Cell Tech employees via e-mail,
calling the company's customers and partners alleging unethical
business practices, and posting trade secrets on the Internet.
Defendant Thorson has an alarming history of engaging in
such "anonymous" Internet attacks against those who he believes may
have slighted him (including past acquaintances and employers), and,
absent a TRO, will continue his historical pattern of making
outrageous and harmful attacks against the material business interests
of Cell Tech, reads Cell Tech's court complaint, filed earlier this
month in Klamath County Circuit Court (13th Judicial District). Cell
Tech, which obtained a temporary restraining order against Thorson on
March 15th, is suing him for defamation and tortious interference with
contractual relations. The company is seeking $1 million. Mark R.
Thorson could not be located for comment; his phone number is unlisted
and a reverse search of his Saratoga, CA address (12991 Pierce Road,
95070) produced no results. Thorson allegedly e-mailed the company's
general mailbox anonymously, promising to fight back against the
company and drive it out of business. Cell Tech also claims he called
their customers and made untrue allegations. Thorson also used an
Internet newsgroup (misc.health.alternative) to criticize the Cell
Tech product. Cell Tech also claims that Thorson has a distrubing
history and pattern of using pseudonyms to criticize whoever has
offended [him] on a particular day. Indeed, a search of Google's
newsgroups shows lots of chatter about Mark Robert Thorson, including
several posts purporting to unmask him as the anonymous source of
negative comments about numerous companies and professionals.
