About Dr. L. Subramaniam:
Dr. Subramaniam's compositions have been featured by the New York
Philharmonic, Kirov Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic, Oslo
Philharmonic, and Swiss Romande Orchestra. He has performed with
the great artists like Ravi Shankar, Yehudi Menuhin and Ali Akbar
Khan. The New York Times wrote "L. Subramaniam is the best this
listener has heard." The San Fransisco Chronicle called him the
greatest of classical Indian violinists, and The Los Angeles Times,
"a peerless virtuoso." For people unaware of Indian classical music
San Rafael Independent Journal writes "...[Dr. Subramaniam's] brilliant
handling of the melodic style (raga) and the rhythmic form (tala)
ensures that even a listner who is unfamiliar with Indian music will
be soon seduced by his music."
